Batting Border Sports Logo

My younger brother and his friends started a sports blog where they would write about Wisconsin and Minnesota Sports Team rivalry games (https://battingborder.wixsite.com). They approached me about creating a logo for the blog, which they had named Batting Border Sports. Naturally, I used this as an opportunity to do something which I have always wanted to do: create a sports-related logo.

I did lots of research into sports team logo designs to figure out the best approach here. I ultimately landed on a simple baseball-style monogram of the B letters, with a nod to the LA Angels letter style. The Bs are positioned in the logo where the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin are geographically positioned next to eachother. I also developed color variations of the logo to match up with the major sports teams from each state (I’m especially proud of the Twins pinstripe logo version). The below images show the process of how I created the logo from sketching to finished product.
